That Actually Happened: The NBA Tried to Introduce a New Ball and Everyone Hated It

In 2006, Commissioner David Stern fell victim to the persuasion of the manufacturer of the NBA ball, Spalding, claiming a new technology would improve performance and cut down on costs. Instead, a new ball that somehow tore up the fingers of players was produced and universally hated. This new ball didn't last long, and Eric tellls its brief but tragic tale.
